WeRoster shows New Zealand's national public holidays on your roster automatically, including Matariki and Mondayised holidays. You don't need to set anything up. The holiday's name appears as a blue label next to the day's name, so you can see at a glance which days need different staffing.
Which holidays are shown
- New Year's Day and the Day after New Year's Day
- Waitangi Day
- Good Friday and Easter Monday
- ANZAC Day
- King's Birthday
- Matariki
- Labour Day
- Christmas Day and Boxing Day
Mondayised holidays
When Waitangi Day, ANZAC Day, Christmas, Boxing Day or the New Year holidays fall on a weekend, the holiday is observed on a weekday instead. WeRoster labels both days: the actual date (for example Waitangi Day on the Saturday) and the observed day (for example Waitangi Day (Mondayised) on the following Monday).
Regional anniversary days
Regional anniversary days, such as Auckland Anniversary or Canterbury Anniversary, aren't shown. If your region has one, add a day note on the roster with the day's Note button so your team knows. See Using the roster editor.
Where you'll see the labels
- In the roster editor: a blue label with a star next to the day's name, and a small star on that day in the week summary's row of days.
- For staff: on their Timetable, next to their shifts and on the week's days, and in Full roster. See Your Timetable.
The labels don't appear in the PDF downloads or in roster emails, so add a day note if you'd like the holiday to show there too.
A holiday label doesn't change anything on its own. WeRoster doesn't stop you rostering people on a public holiday or change the wage totals.
Who can do this
Everyone who can see a roster sees the labels. There's nothing to turn on.
